Some days it can feel like you are drowning...

Being in business by yourself is tough!

Everything is on your shoulders...

The marketing, 

the book keeping,

the lesson plans,

making sure the teachers are on time,

paying the pool hire, 

speaking with the parents, 

making sure the children know which class they are in, 

making sure you have pupils to actually teach...

the list goes on and on and it can be a lonely job having no-one to talk to...

when you are 'The Boss' it's hard to speak to your staff about the challenges you face as a business owner... They all turn to you when they have a problem... but who do you turn to? Where do you go to for advice?

I know when I was running my swim school there were days when I could scream!!! It felt like everything was going wrong..... I had big dreams...I just didn't know how to achieve them....

I realized though if I wanted to be successful and build the swim school I wanted and to be able to sell it I needed a mentor, but there wasn't really any other swim school mentors around....

So I went searching for mentors in different areas of expertise...

I had mentors like Tony Robbins and Robert Kawasaki and read books like Think and Grow Rich by Napolean Hill, which helped me build the mindset needed to be successful

I paid thousands for business mentorship with Rob Moore and Keith Cunningham amongst others to learn the business skill sets I needed to implement in my business,

I went on course after course looking for answers and solutions, taking little bits from each course and implementing them as I went along...

I surrounded myself with successful people from other industries and looked at what they were doing and took what I could to implement in my business,

It was that accumulation of knowledge and surrounding myself with succesful people who were all striving for a common goals that helped me develop the skillset and mindset to achieve my goals...

For many years that was missing and I wasn't able to find it, which is why now that I found it, I want to help other swim school owners by sharing the knowledge and skills I've picked up along the way through our Intu Sport C.L.U.B mentorship programme.
